A look back at everything we've achieved

Celebrating 10 years of The Able Label

We're proud to have made it to our ten year anniversary. With a decade of growth to look back on, we're proud to realise just how far we've come. So whether you're a long term shopper or new to us, we wanted to say a quick thank you for your support and take a trip down memory lane!

Our beginnings

2014

Embarking on our journey in 2014, The Able Label emerged with a humble yet promising debut. The brand launched in October with a range of just six products available in three colours. Inspired and shaped by the The Able Label Ladies, the collection made its mark at RehaCare in Düsseldorf, showcased alongside NRS, setting the foundation for future growth.

Our first Catalogue and a glowing endorsement

2015

In 2015, we launched our first home shopping catalogue, broadening our reach and accessibility. The year was marked by a successful showcase at the OT Show at Birmingham NEC and we received a glowing testimonial from Joanna Lumley which helped us build our reputation and awareness.

Featured in Vogue Magazine and our first collaboration

2016

A dream moment for a fashion brand, in 2016 we were excited to feature in VOGUE, thanks to a feature by Melanie Reid!

The year 2016 saw The Able Label cultivating a close relationship with Access Independent in Cambridge. This collaboration paved the way for new offerings, including the introduction of gift vouchers, enhancing the shopping experience for our customers and enabling carers and loved ones to gift independence.

a growing team and brand

2017

As we grew, so did our recognition and we were picked up in major publications such as The Lady, Saga, and WI Life.

Alongside media attention, we expanded our team, bolstering our ability to innovate and test products while being able to support our customers as much as possible.

Introducing our underwear

2018

This year marked the expansion of the product line with the launch of underwear, including adaptive bras and incontinence underwear, diversifying what we offer to meet the needs of our amazing customers and have proven to become some of our best-selling products.

More charity partnerships

2019

Partnerships became a focal point in 2019 as we began collaborating with like-minded charities and organisations where their users might benefit from adaptive clothing.

We proudly teamed up with the Alzheimer's Society, Arthritis Action, and the British Polio Fellowship.

Additionally, we partnered with Churchill Retirement Homes to help enhance their rewards scheme.

introducing jewellery and menswear

2020

Always looking to innovate, we introduced an adaptive jewellery range and expanded into menswear.

Now some of our most popular products, we kicked of the menswear collection with adaptive shirts and trousers.

adapting to COVID

2021

In 2021, we strengthened our partnerships, adding the Stroke Association and Home Instead to our list of partners.

Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19, we remained committed to making sure our customer experience was seamless, developed our online experience as well as created new styles to meet the growing demands we faced as a business.

a website make-over and introducing slippers

2022

Our website saw significant improvements in 2022, making it easier for customers to shop VAT free when eligible.

This year also brought the launch of slippers, further broadening our product range.

Expanding our horizons

2023

With eyes set on international horizons, 2023 was a year of expansion.

We ventured into new markets beyond the UK and began working with more local seamstresses, supporting growth and commitment to quality craftsmanship.

The present

2024

Now, in 2024, we're celebrating our global reach and are excited to be selling worldwide.

We've received a wealth of positive reviews and partnerships with numerous charities, including a new partnership with the MS Society, to which significant donations have been made.

We continue to enhance our delivery services, offering guaranteed next-day UK and express overseas options for urgent needs. Despite this growth, we remain dedicated to providing a personal service to our customers, with offering direct customer advice, bespoke alterations, and gift wrapping services to those that need that extra bit of help.

What does the future look like?

As we look to the future, we aim to expand our range of products and gifts, with more footwear options on the horizon, promising greater choice and continued commitment to excellence for our customers. Watch this space!
